(Clearwisdom.net) Practitioner Zhao Hongwen and his wife Sun Rongjun, who resided in Zibo, Shandong Province, were persecuted for clarifying the truth about Falun Gong. Zhao Hongwen was imprisoned in a forced labor camp while Sun Rongjun had to leave their home and children behind to avoid further persecution. Ms. Sun was killed in a car accident on January 20, 2002.
Ms. Sun, 49, was an employee with the Zibo Pottery Factory. She was paralyzed from the waist down at age 19 as a result of a mistaken muscular injection. She could find no cure until she started practicing Falun Gong in 1996. Before long, she was able to stand and move as if nothing had happened.
Sun and her husband Zhao Hongwen appealed in Beijing many times after July 20, 1999. They were detained, imprisoned, fined and brutally beaten.
In May 2000, they were arrested in Beijing for appealing and were brought back to Yechuan Hospital under the Ministry of Minerals in Zibo, Shandong Province. They were kept in the Mental Health Department where they were both injected with high dosages of nerve-damaging medication, which caused a significant loss of hair and teeth.
In July 2000, both Sun and Zhao went to Beijing to appeal again. They were arrested and detained in a brainwashing center under the Kunlun Agriculture Department. The head of the township, Chen Hui, and his staff took turns battering the couple. These villains even stripped off their pants and beat them with a plastic baton. Ms. Sun was so severely beaten around her navel that her underwear cut deep into the flesh, which was very bloody. The rest of her body was covered in bruises.
As Ms. Sun was released, her husband Mr. Zhao was sentenced to a three-year term in Qiuju Forced Labor Camp (he now has been released). Since then, the local police seriously harassed and threatened her, so she had no choice but to leave her home and children behind. She moved from one place to another day by day, and was killed in a car accident on January 20, 2002.

(Clearwisdom.net) I am a Dafa practitioner in Mudanjiang City. I was arrested and illegally detained in the No. 2 Detention Center of Mudanjiang City in early December 2002, for making Dafa truth-clarifying materials.
Liu Jinqun, the head of the detention center, stripped off female practitioners' pants when he and his accomplices brutally tortured them. When they learned I had been on a hunger strike since being detained at the Railroad Detention Center and continuing at the No. 2 Detention Center, he ordered me to be dragged out of my cell every day. My feet were shackled and restrained and they force-fed me with a small amount of milk mixed with large amount of salt. My stomach burned like fire all day long. I was force-fed every day and brutally beaten during interrogation periods. One day, Wang Wei, an officer at the Xi'an Police Department interrogated me and beat me until I was bruised all over. Then he unbuttoned my clothes and groped my breasts. After I passed out, he took my finger and put my fingerprints, against my will, several times on someone else's case files. Seeing that I would not give in after I regained consciousness, he threatened to drag me outside and freeze me to death in the --30 C temperature (-22 F).
I obtained the Fa in late 1998, and benefited greatly. After the persecution began on July 20, 1999, I took the train to go to Beijing to validate Dafa. While staying in Beijing for more than 20 days, I witnessed Beijing's police persecuting Dafa practitioners and non-practitioners. In August, I returned to Mudanjiang City. The head of the street committee learned I went to appeal, so he came to my home each day and attempted to coerce me to write a guarantee statement to give up my belief. Zhang Yitao, a police officer from Yangming Police Station ransacked my home and took away Dafa books, videos, audiocassettes and Master's pictures. Under their coercion, my husband signed a document. The head of the street committee begged me to write a guarantee statement to promise I wouldn't go to Beijing, and he said if I didn't write it, he and the local police chief would be fired. I didn't give up human sentimentality and agreed. However, this was only the beginning of the Jiang regime's persecution. Police officer Zhang Yitao illegally took me to the Yangming Police Station and asked me if I would still practice. He threatened me with forced labor and detained me for one day. During the Chinese New Year of 2000, the street committee officials and police came to my home seven times; they harassed, threatened and intimidated us and asserted tremendous pressure on all of my family.
In July 2000, a large-scale arrest was launched in Mudanjiang City. The police again threw me into police custody; they cuffed my hands behind my back and locked me to an iron chair for 20 hours. They tortured me for an entire night. The next day, Li Wei, the head of the police department, ordered me to move out of my home within two days upon my release and to move my household out of their precinct. My family became homeless and had to look for a place to rent.
On September 29, 2000, I again went to Beijing to appeal. On October 1, I saw police beating Dafa practitioners in Tiananmen Square; I walked up to them to reason with them and stop them. As a result, I was arrested and sent back to the No. 2 Detention Center of Mudanjiang City and held for 294 days. Many other Dafa practitioners were also illegally detained. We were brutally tortured, physically and mentally. In the end, I was unconditionally released on July 23, 2001, when I was on the verge of death from a hunger strike that lasted many days. During the persecution that lasted nearly ten months, I didn't say anything against Dafa and I didn't betray my faith in Truth, Compassion, Tolerance. Instead, I wrote to my supervisor in a peaceful and rational manner to tell about the injustices done to the practitioners.
On August 9, 2002, the Mudanjiang City Police Department and its four branch police departments illegally pursued me because I worked with Dafa materials. I was forced to leave home for more than three months. The police failed to capture me so they arrested my husband and detained him at the Yangming Police Station for one day. They also stopped my son in front of the school gate and tried to extort information about my whereabouts from him, which caused great damage to my son's innocent young heart. The police also staked out at my sister's shop and harassed my family.
On November 28, 2002, I was arrested in Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province. Two fellow practitioners including Yie Lianping were also arrested. Yie Lianping has been tortured to death. In the evening of November 28, police from Political and Security Division of Mudanjiang City hung up Yie Lianping and me in a jeep and the handcuffs bit into our flesh. We could not stand or sit when being hung up and we were taken back to Mudanjiang City in this manner. In the evening, Ye Lianping was force-fed two bottles of mustard oil [very spicy and caustic similar to chili oil]and her head was forcibly put in a plastic bag. I was beaten with a broomstick by police officer Qiao Ping until I was bruised all over. My head and face convulsed and turned numb. The vicious thugs threw me into a car and drove me to the Railroad Detention Center in Mudanjiang City. I held a four-day hunger strike and didn't sleep to resist the evil. The guard brutally beat me and kicked me countless times with his hard boots. My hands were cuffed in front and then behind me. I was sent back to the city police department after I was tortured four days.
In early December 2002, I was illegally detained in the No. 2 Detention Center of Mudanjiang City, where I was brutally tortured daily. Wang Wei, the police at Xi'an Police Department interrogated me. The day after he beat me until I was unconscious, he came to extort a confession. He saw that I was in a very critical condition and was afraid I would die in jail. My family asked for me every day for half a month at the city police department. In mid December 2002, I was again released. However, my sister was forced to sign a document, so if I did anything that displeased the police, they would arrest my sister. I didn't say anything I was not supposed to say during the half month of my detention. I firmly resisted the police and faced them with righteous thoughts. While in detention, I recited the Fa, promoted the Fa and sent forth righteous thoughts. I am doing my best to safeguard the law of the cosmos using righteous thoughts and righteous actions in a peaceful and rational manner.

Zhou Hua (female), 34, is a Deputy-Director in the second English Research Office, Foreign Language Department of Harbin Industrial University. She is extremely proficient in her job. On December 29, 2000, the department head tricked her, asking her to come to his office. When she arrived, the police kidnapped her. "I've been tracking Zhou more than one month," a police officer said. Ms. Zhou was illegally arrested because she had donated money to produce materials that explain the facts about Falun Gong.
"Zhou Hua is the best English teacher in Harbin Industrial University," said a doctorial student from the Material Science department whom Zhou Hua had taught. "When Ms. Zhou was teaching my class, the passing ratio for the level four English test, first time out, was 100 percent. For this achievement, the Material Science Academy gave her 200 Yuan." [The average monthly income for an urban worker in China is 500 Yuan.]

Citizens in Cheng'an County, Hebei Province, had been monitoring and reporting local Dafa practitioners. As a result, on August 31, 2000, Li Zhide, the Director General of Cheng'an County Police Bureau, led all the policemen from the County Police Department, along with every police station, and forcibly abducted 67 practitioners who were gathered together to share experiences. The police maliciously beat the practitioners. Several police surrounded one practitioner, abused him/her using ropes and batons, and pulled practitioners' hair and kicked them. Practitioners were beaten until they were bruised and bleeding. Some were even beaten to unconsciousness.
While in the police station, police officers Lu Jianping, Zhao Peng, Feng Jinghai, Zhang Jiangdou, and others led a group of hired thugs using unconscionable force to torture Dafa practitioners for three consecutive days and nights. They put shackles weighing twenty pounds-plus on practitioners, and used electric batons to continuously shock practitioners with high-voltage. Many practitioners were severely burned. The wounds were horrible to look at. To prevent anyone from hearing the cries of pain, practitioners' mouths were stuffed with socks. Dafa practitioner Xun Ruilin was severely beaten, then sent to Lintong County and tortured to death. Practitioner Xia Wenzhong had been illegally arrested eight times and sent to detention centers, and now has been arrested by a governmental legal department. After suffering excruciating pain from torture Practitioner Li has also been arrested by a governmental legal department.
While practitioners were in the detention center, Chief Fan, Chief Chen, Chief Yi, and Guard Yang spread rumors and slandered Dafa. Director General Li Zhide and Lu Jiangzhang personally directed brutal forced-feeding. Zhang Jiangang, the chief of the Politics and Security Section of the Police Bureau, led others repeatedly to break into practitioners' homes and abduct them in the middle of the night.
These vicious policemen also extorted huge amounts of money from Dafa practitioners' families; at least 5,000 Yuan per practitioner [An average urban worker's monthly salary is about 500 Yuan]. Some practitioners' families were forced to prepare a feast for the police and give them presents. The families spent almost 30,000 Yuan to have those practitioners released. These families not only lost everything but incurred large debts because of the persecution.
Here we solemnly warn those vicious police in Cheng'an County: Stop the persecution against Dafa and Dafa practitioners! Otherwise you will face heaven's wrath.

(Clearwisdom.net) Zhong Fangqiong, a 37-year-old female Dafa practitioner in Chengdu City, Sichuan Province, was in the transportation business. Before practicing Falun Gong, she had congenital angioma [a tumor composed chiefly of blood vessels or lymph vessels] After having surgery in 1995, her condition deteriorated. In 1997, over 30 experts from Sichuan Medical College held a consultation and unanimously expressed that internationally, there was no effective treatment for this disease. At the end of 1997, she started to suffer from serious chronological blood shortage in the brain. Medicine became her long-term companion. On her face, there were also large areas of deep-colored "butterfly spots."
The miracle happened after she obtained the Fa and started practicing Falun Gong on March 5 of 1999, -- the entire grouping of "butterfly spots" on her face completely vanished within a week. Within two months, the angioma and shortage of blood in brain were all completely cured. She gained a new life and was free from the pain.
On October 1, 1999, she and other five practitioners went to the office of the "Commercial Morning Paper" to clarify the facts and correct the misleading reports, confusing right and wrong. With her personal experience, she validated that Falun Gong was beneficial to physical health and mind. However, she was detained for 15 days by the lawless police in the name of "besieging a newspaper office." Soon, the news media in Chengdu twisted what she said and published a distorted report. They lied, saying because she practiced Falun Gong, she caught this cancerous disease. The report also lied that Falun Gong did not permit her to go to the hospital to get injections and medicine, etc. They even made a television program and repeatedly showed it on Sichuan TV station's "Ten O'clock Tonight" column.
On December 19, 1999, Zhong Fangqiong went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. On March 7, 2000, she once again went to Beijing. She had been detained six times successively by the public security, and once by the criminal section, for a total of 120 days. During those periods, on numerous occasions she requested to go home and take a shower, and take a look at her child, the very basic human requests which were rejected without any reason. Since Zhong was a single parent and as she was constantly detained, her nine-year old son was forced to be left alone at home. Zhong Fangqiong's mother, Chen Guoxing was 65 year old. Because the grandmother practiced Falun Gong, she was also deprived of the right to look after her grandson. Furthermore, she was even deported from Sichuan and forced to go back to her hometown. A family was hence separated. Afterwards, Zhong was repeatedly detained again. On June 14, 2000, once again she was arrested by Chengdu police. At the same time, the public security also rummaged through her home and confiscated her personal property. To prevent her from telling people the truth, Chengdu City Police Station sentenced her one-year of forced labor when her 11th detention term ended. They imprisoned her in the Nanmusi Female Detention Center in Zizhong City to continue to persecute her.
On December 28, 2001, Zhong Fangqiong was snatched by police in Pengzhou City, and was illegally imprisoned in Pengzhou Detention Center for many of days. In about April, 2002, Zhong Fangqiong was kidnapped at home by Jianyang wicked police who took her to Jianyang to brutally torture her. She was beaten, which resulted in cuts and bruises, and her head was bleeding. Under this situation, the wicked police unwillingly sent her to Chengdu 416 Hospital to treat her wounds. She was able to escape from the hospital, and became destitute and homeless in order to avoid illegally arrest.
In mid December, 2002, Fangqiong was abducted by several unlawful police in her residence in Chengdu. She was locked up in a hotel room in Chengdu Baifurong Hotel, and was interrogated under torture and extorted a confession by the police. They tied her hands in back on a chair for nearly six days and nights. During this period, they often beat and kicked her and slapped her face. They even poured cold water on her head, from her neck down to her undergarments. Some drunken police also poured alcohol on her face and head, from her neck, soaking her undergarments, in order to humiliate her [note: Falun Dafa practitioners do not smoke or drink alcohol]. They would not let her sleep for several days in succession. Hence, a couple of days later, Zhong fell down from the 4th floor and was in coma for several hours. At that time, her hipbone and leg suffered serious damage. Thirty-one days later, near death, she was sent home. Now she is bedridden and cannot take care of herself.
This is the bitter experience a kind-hearted Dafa practitioner who believes in "Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance" has suffered since July 20th, 1999.
(Clearwisdom.net) One night, when a Falun Dafa practitioner got together with a group of fellow practitioners, several police suddenly broke into the room, and illegally kidnapped them. At that moment, she had only one thought in her mind, "I cannot be arrested. I will firmly deny all of this." In the face of the vicious people, she was very calm. She questioned those police sternly and uprightly, and stopped their illegal acts. She prohibited the police to touch her or take her purse, and they really dared not to touch her. While she talked to the police, she kept sending forth righteous thoughts. She had a strong will to escape in her heart, and asked Teacher for help. Suddenly she felt feverish throughout her body, had difficulty breathing, and was dizzy. She asked to visit the restroom, and took this opportunity to dispose of the important things in her purse, such as names and contact information of fellow practitioners. Eventually, she passed out and could not move at all. Her whole body became stiff. Not believing that she really passed out, the police grabbed at sensitive parts on her body. Not until they found that she had indeed lost consciousness did they send her to the hospital.
Although her body could not move, her mind was very clear. She had been sending forth righteous thoughts to eliminate the evil in other dimensions. She firmly believed in Teacher and Dafa, and she believed that she could escape. Under surveillance of many police, she was sent to the hospital for emergency treatment. The doctor rescued her and gave her infusions with many people watching. She sent forth righteous thoughts unceasingly to make all the police leave. At about 1:00 a.m., when the last policeman left, she quickly removed her quilt, pulled out the IV, ran barefoot out of the emergency room and jumped out of a window on the first floor. There was a path leading outside the hospital area. She ran fast. Although there was rubble and broken glass on the ground, her feet were not wounded. As there was no bus on the street at this hour, she asked Teacher in her heart to help her get a taxi. Soon, she heard a car approaching and hid behind a tree, fearing it was a police car. When the car passed by, she found it was a taxi. She felt regret, and said to Teacher, "Your disciple had fear just now. Teacher, please give me another chance." Another taxi was coming, so she successfully escaped from danger. During the four hours from being abducted to escaping, her experience made her once again feel Teacher's compassionate protection and the power of "righteous thoughts display the might of Gods."

The corrupt authorities hired people to monitor a female Falun Dafa practitioner, who was over 50 years old, on so-called "sensitive" days. Despite this, she continued to put up posters everywhere. Finally, one night, the pair that followed her moved a bed up against the only exit from her home. After the monitors fell sleep, the practitioner opened the door, moved the bed aside, and pushed it back after she left. After she finished distributing the material, she sent forth righteous thoughts to make them keep sleeping. Then once again she moved the bed a little bit, felt the position of the lock, and opened the door with her key.
The next day, one of the two that watched her said, "Yesterday there was someone who wanted to break into your home. He used a key to try to open your door for a long time. I wanted to shout, but my throat was stuck and I could not shout out, neither could I move." The practitioner smiled with a clear understanding in her heart.

I am a Dafa practitioner living in a rural area. I obtained the Fa after the persecution of Dafa began. Before I took up the practice, I had all kinds of diseases. In December 2001, I was struck with a severe stroke and I couldn't take care of myself. My doctors said my condition was incurable.
Just when I was in despair, two practitioners in my village told me the truth about Dafa and shared with me their experience of benefiting from Dafa. I also wanted to learn Dafa after talking to them, so they gave me a copy of Zhuan Falun. I then started to read the book. One morning a miracle happened. I was lying in bed when I saw Teacher's photo coming towards me, getting closer and closer. It landed near me and I hurried to touch it with my hand, but it suddenly disappeared. From then on, I firmly believed in Dafa.
Shortly after I started to learn the exercises, I saw a golden being fly out of my body. I also saw many scenes and heard voices from the universe. I did not really understand what they were saying. Once, I saw a big character in red, which said, "heart." I realized this was to remind me to pay attention to xinxing (mind or heart nature; moral character) cultivation. In the meantime, my health was getting better and better. In just two months, all my illnesses went away and my body felt very light. Teacher purified my body and gave me a second life. My gratitude towards Teacher is beyond words. I will validate Dafa and clarify the truth to people in the world.
At the end of 2002, my doctor from the county hospital was very surprised when she saw me, and asked, "How were your illnesses cured?" I told her it was Falun Dafa that had saved me. I also used my own experience to clarify the truth to friends and people around me.
(Clearwisdom.net) In order to completely eliminate the old forces and their arrangements, one must first improve oneself. Studying the Fa well is the way to improve oneself. The following is my humble understanding:
1. My Understanding of Studying the Fa
In the early stage of studying the Fa, we were all studying with a lot of human notions. The most serious problem was not treating each lecture, each issue, each paragraph, each sentence, and each word in Zhuan Falun with equal importance in our Fa study. This is a serious obstacle in studying the Fa. For example, in Lecture One of Zhuan Falun it reads: "To tell you the truth, the entire cultivation process for a practitioner is one of constantly giving up human attachments." It is clear that this sentence is the truth. But what is the context of this sentence? It seemed the context is not as important. In fact we didn't treat the entire Fa as the Fa, instead we only studied a part of the Fa, the part that we thought was good. Dafa is an integrated unity, and each word is connected with the entire Fa. Therefore this is also studying the Fa with the attachment of pursuit. If you study the Fa with such a bad attitude, how can the Buddhas, Daos, and Gods behind the words of Zhuan Falun show you the meaning of the Fa?
Some believe that the purpose of studying the Fa is just to elevate xinxing. This paragraph talks about the universe, that paragraph talks about supernormal abilities, this paragraph talks about spirit or animal possession, that paragraph talks about stealing qi--they all have nothing to do with me. To study the Fa with such an attachment of pursuit, how could you see the Fa at higher levels? In what state do high-level beings exist? You don't even know the requirements of Fa for the beings living there, how can you improve your xinxing?
Another problem is to study the Fa with human notions, even to match human notions to the Fa, and use "Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance" as the guidelines for everyday people's life, and to judge if one's thinking, speech and behavior abide by Dafa's requirements. To think about how to be kind and compassionate using human notions is to think and study the Fa with a human heart. In the early stage of clarifying the truth, everybody had a simple idea: they were slandering Dafa, we must expose their lies and fabrications, and let everyday people know that Dafa is good. It was that simple, and nobody thought about it in terms of being compassionate. Later in "Teaching the Fa at the Western U.S. Fa Conference" of Guiding the Voyage, Master said, "I'm telling you that this is your mercy, and you are truly saving the future people!" I realized that as long as our thinking, speech and behavior meet the requirements of Dafa, we are compassionate. We don't need to add any human notion to it.
Another issue is being afraid of asking questions when studying the Fa, for fear we would have any attachment of pursuit, and think there is an attachment of pursuit whenever there is a question. I believe this is going to the other extreme, just like Zen Buddhism's "digging into a bull's horn." This limitation of Zen Buddhism's thinking is an important reason why it's cultivation level stays low and eventually went into a dead end.
It is no small matter if we don't have any new understanding of the Fa, and repeatedly fail to see the Fa's principles when we study Zhuan Falun. We should neither have any attachment of pursuit, nor dig into a bull's horn. We can only study the Fa well when we are calm.
2. The Status of Cultivation
First we must be very clear about our cultivation status and position. As for "Fa-rectification period Dafa disciples," cultivation has reached the final stage. But some fellow practitioners couldn't clearly recognize their cultivation status; some even are not clear about whether they are in In-Triple-World-Fa or Beyond-Triple-World-Fa, and whether or not they are beyond the Three Realms. These are the factors that seriously obstruct them from ascending to higher levels.
Because our change begins at microscopic levels, we changed very rapidly in the microscopic level in our cultivation. From the Three Realms, different levels of the cosmos, different levels of celestial bodies, different systems of the universe and colossal firmament to the entire universe, Master has been continuously expanding our realms and giving us hints for our improvements. Furthermore, Master pushed us to our highest positions around July 20, 1999, and the only thing left was the human shell. Our problem is not whether we can reach Consummation or not, but instead how to make our human sides have a clearer understanding. The Fa from Master is for us, but some fellow practitioners have not realized it yet, and they felt as if the Fa is for somebody else. This is one of the reasons that we couldn't have a clearer mind.
If the human side of a Dafa practitioner does not have a clear understanding of the Fa, and believes that he or she is at a low level, it will affect the ability of his or her divine side when sending righteous thoughts. But this is not to imagine oneself being at a high level. One must understand it from the Fa in order to use the full potential of his ability. Because humans could not imagine what it looks like from the high level, it is still very low no matter how high you imagine yourself to be.
3. About Sending Righteous Thoughts
It is normal for us to remove bad thoughts from ourselves first before sending forth righteous thoughts to eliminate evil. But it is problematic to view removing our bad thoughts as a precondition for sending righteous thoughts and fear that righteous thoughts are not strong and pure enough. If, in fact, it is true that righteous thoughts are not strong enough, then it is necessary to regularly study the Fa, and to guide oneself with righteous thoughts. If it is possible, the duration and frequency of sending righteous thoughts should be increased, so that it is faster and more effective to eliminate evil. However, one should not increase the duration and frequency of sending righteous thoughts just because he or she thinks his level is not high enough and his righteous thoughts are not strong enough. The idea of being at a level not high enough and righteous thoughts not being strong enough are all factors that affect one's righteous thoughts.
Do not blend human notions in when sending righteous thoughts, do not have any sympathy towards the old forces and rotten demons that attempt to throw the Fa into disorder, just completely and forcefully eliminate them. When we send forth righteous thoughts to eliminate evil, we are not only breaking through the persecution arranged by the evil old forces, but also saving sentient beings. This is genuine benevolence. To blend in human notions will reduce the effectiveness of righteous thoughts.
When standing at a level above the universe, one's single thought can generate the universe and all lives in it, from the lowest level to the highest level. You can even generate something bigger. Your single thought, of course, can eliminate any evil life in the universe that persecutes Dafa.
4. Do Not Wait Passively and Depend on Others
I personally think that to rectify the Fa in the human world is Dafa disciples' responsibility, and we cannot have the idea of passively waiting for Master to rectify the Fa. We came to the human world to save the universe. In the Fa--rectification period, Master gave us the opportunity to cultivate, put us on the right path, taught us Dafa, and made it possible for us to realize the vow we made a long time ago. If we do not take the initiative to rectify the Fa, but instead wait passively for Master to rectify the Fa when evil is persecuting Dafa, then why are we here at all in the human world? Aren't we Dafa disciples that came here to rectify the Fa in the human world and save people? Master will assist us and even do it for us if we do not have the ability. However, if we do have the ability but don't do it and passively wait, then that's the issue of a lack of righteous thoughts.
The above is my humble understanding. If there is anything inappropriate, please compassionately point it out and let's improve together.

Dear Minghui Editors and fellow practitioners, warm greetings to you all!
I just finished reading "Explaining the Fa During the 2003 Lantern Festival at the U.S. West Fa Conference." I have so much to say but do not know where to begin.
Human words cannot express our deepest gratefulness to our Teacher. I am a Dafa practitioner from a remote area in China. Just as our teacher has said, "No need to worry about that. They're all able to know about the Minghui website. Dafa disciples in remote regions all keep in touch with one another and pass on information to each other." ("Explaining the Fa During the 2003 Lantern Festival at the U.S. West Fa Conference") Even though our location is quite isolated, we can still get Minghui web information through the Internet. Although we might have strayed or become lost in our path of Fa-rectification, we have overcome the tribulations and do the three things that we are supposed to do.
I know a practitioner who is always pleasant despite having been detained and penalized. The local police searched his house several times. He keeps Dafa books in his house but when searching the house the police could not find the books. My family members also have had a big change of heart. Originally they were against us practicing Dafa, but ever since the crackdown they support us more than before. I have also experienced a hard fall. I did not know how to react to the sudden approach of the evil in July of 1999. All news was blocked; the vigorous and extensive vicious propaganda was all around us. This made me drift away from Teacher's teachings. Until one day in 2001, I finally found Minghui web on the Internet and had a chance to read Teacher's articles. This is so precious to me!
Compared to overseas practitioners, we are very lucky when we are able to read Teacher's Lectures in such a short time, not to mention if we could have the chance to listen to or meet our Master. The vicious people are still continuing to slander Dafa but they are not the mainstream. They just try to act like it. The overall environment of Dafa has already changed a lot. We all know the reasons. At last, I would like to send best regards to our Teacher!
We would also like to send our best regards to the Minghui editors and overseas practitioners. We will not let you down. Let us all strive forward vigorously.

March 18, 2003: During the 59th session of the United Nations
Commission on Human Rights, family members of Falun Gong practitioners being
persecuted in China gathered on Place Des Nations, the square in front of the
United Nations in Geneva to appeal to all kind-hearted people to help rescue
these practitioners.
Mr. Baosheng Zhu came to Geneva from the UK to call for the rescue of his sister, who was illegally sentenced to four years imprisonment
Reporter: Mr. Zhu, why have you come to Geneva to participate in the march?
Mr. Zhu: My sister is a Falun Gong practitioner. On December 15, 2002, she was arrested when she went out with her friends because there was Falun Gong literature in their car. The police did not inform my family after arresting her. My family learned of her whereabouts one month later through unofficial channels. However, she was not allowed visitors unless she signed a paper to renounce Falun Gong. Eight months later, she was sentenced to four years of imprisonment along with five other practitioners.
Reporter: Can you tell us the situation before and after your sister practiced Falun Gong?
Mr. Zhu: My sister was a worker in a pharmaceutical company. She started practicing Falun Gong in 1994. Before she practiced Falun Gong, she was quite stubborn and self-indulgent. She was the youngest in my family and others took care of her. After practicing, she got rid of her bad habits and became an easy-going person. At her suggestion, I also started practicing Falun Gong. I caught pneumonia and suffered for three months before practicing. It has been four years since I started to practice Falun Gong, and I have never had any headaches or caught a cold since then. In addition, I don't feel the pressure of living overseas as I used to.
Reporter: After she was imprisoned, have any of your family members visited her, and what is her current situation?
Mr. Zhu: My elder sister visited her but didn't tell me the true situation, as she was afraid that I would worry. But I know that many Falun Gong practitioners are being tortured. I worry about her. I hope that she will be released through my efforts and the overseas Falun Gong practitioners' help.
Reporter: Are you confident about the overseas rescue effort?
Mr. Zhu: I am confident because quite a few practitioners have been released through the efforts of the Canadian, US and Australian governments, such as Professor Zhang Kunlun from Canada and Zhang Cuiying from Australia. Rescuing my sister is not for her benefit alone, but also for all Falun Gong practitioners being persecuted. As long as Falun Gong practitioners don't have freedom to practice in China, I will continue my appeal.
Mr. Xiong Zhiyuan Came to Geneva from Israel to Appeal for the Rescue of His Sister, Xiong Wei, Who is Illegally Imprisoned
Mr. Xiong Zhiyuan, an Israeli citizen engaging in international trade, came to Geneva specifically to appeal to the United Nations to help secure his sister's release.
Xiong Wei studied in Germany. She felt a lot of pressure from study and her health deteriorated. After practicing Falun Gong, she became healthy. Two years ago, she returned to China to work. On January 5, 2001, she was taken away as she distributed truth-clarification materials and sentenced to two years in prison without any legal procedure. She was allowed visitors for half an hour only after she had been imprisoned for half a year. Later Zhiyuan learned from calling his parents that his sister has become thinner and thinner in jail. The telephone in his parents' home is tapped and they don't dare to talk about sensitive topics.
Mr. Xiong Zhiyuan said, "We are very worry about her life. Xiong Wei is the youngest among my brothers and sisters. News about the torture of Falun Gong practitioners is continuously disclosed to overseas, and some have even been tortured to death. Last month, 38 practitioners died due to police brutality. We worry about her condition every moment."
Mr. Xiong is also persecuted by the Chinese Embassy in Israel. The Embassy refused his visa application and he cannot go to China. Earlier, he used to go to China once one or twice a month. For over two years, he has been unable to visit China. He said, "I can practice Falun Gong freely in Western countries, but I cannot go to my motherland."
Recently, International human rights organizations headquartered in Germany, Dublin Technology University, Association of Chinese and German Cultures, and the Falun Dafa Association jointly printed 60,000 post cards addressed to the German Prime Minister and called on him to urge the Chinese Government to release all imprisoned Falun Gong practitioners. Six Israeli congress members and the leader of the opposition party signed a letter condemning the Jiang regime's persecution of Falun Gong and calling for an end of the persecution. Israeli Falun Gong practitioners sat-in for 58 hours in front of the Chinese Embassy to call for the rescue of Xiong Wei.
Mr. Xiong said, "I thank the Israeli and German governments for their efforts to rescue Xiong Wei."
Mr. Xiong came to Geneva this time to call on kind people and governments to help end the persecution of Falun Gong and rescue hundreds of thousands of Falun Gong practitioners being persecuted like his sister. Prisons should never be used for detaining good people.
(Clearwisdom.net) On March 14, 2003, Falun Dafa practitioners held a
signature collecting campaign in Munich to appeal for help to rescue Lin Wenrong
and all other persecuted Falun Gong practitioners. Practitioners called upon the
international community to help promptly stop the genocidal campaign against
Falun Gong in China.
We started with sending forth righteous thoughts outside the Chinese Consulate in Munich and making appeals. Then, we gathered at downtown Maria Square. The theme of our campaign was related to the persecution cases occurring this month. We were appealing to the German people to contact their government representative about the persecution of Falun Gong. We gave a petition letter to everyone who signed their name in support of Falun Gong and was willing to invite their friends to sign the petition.
On the petition were the names of seven persecuted practitioners in need of our urgent help: the wife of Zhang Zhentong, Wang Xiaoyan, the mother of Cheng Gang, Pan Huiqing, Liu Hongbo, the teacher of Zhu Xiaoyan, Liu Shan, the old classmate of Wu Song, Wang Weiyu, Xiong Wei who had pursued further studies in Berlin, and Lin Wenrong who is a student in Düsseldorf and was recently imprisoned whilst visiting her family in China because she practices Falun Gong.
Today there were many visitors from China. After seeing our huge poster, they
were stunned; some of them even whispered, "Rescue, rescue." Many Chinese people
came to express their support and asked for Dafa leaflets and Video-CDs. Today,
there were many more Chinese people who signed the petition. Some tourists from
China said that Falun Gong is good and dared to speak up for Falun Gong even
when someone in their travel group had opposing opinions.
Many people took an interest in our colorful and rich display cards, in particular the Falun emblem. When I asked them if they knew the history of their ancestors, many of them said yes. Then, I would tell them something about the Falun emblem. This was a good idea from one Western practitioner to relate Falun Gong to Germans by associating the Falun emblem to their ancestors' history. When they come to understand Falun Gong, people can feel closely related to the genocidal campaign happening in China.
Today significantly more of the public offered to sign the petition. Many of them wanted to take a petition letter home for their friends and family to sign.

practitioner Charles Li, Northern Californian Falun Gong practitioners gathered for
two days in front of the Chinese Consulate in San Francisco and California's
capitol in Sacramento, respectively, to condemn the show trial.
At 4:30 p.m. on March 20, 2003, San Francisco Dafa practitioners gathered in front of the Chinese consulate and sent forth righteous thoughts to protest the persecution of Charles Li.
At 12 p.m. on March 21, 2003, the practitioners gathered in Sacramento, the capital of California, and held a press conference in front of the state capitol. During the conference, practitioners pointed out, "During the last three years, there have been more than 600 confirmed cases of practitioners tortured to death by the police. Hundreds of thousands of practitioners have been illegally sentenced to prison or labour camp and brutally tortured. Jiang's regime has never followed the law to deal with Dafa practitioners. Instead, the regime manipulates the law by setting up new rules or trampling laws at will to persecute the practitioners."
A practitioner said, "It is the Jiang regime that should be tried, not Charles Li. Today, the regime shamelessly holds a show trial of this innocent Dafa practitioner, Charles Li. We condemn such an absurd show trial and the nearly four-year long brutal persecution."
In the conference, a representative of Amnesty International delivered a speech to condemn the Jiang regime's persecution of the Chinese people, especially Falun Gong practitioners by torture and other inhumane means.
In the conference, letters were read from the Vice Mayor of Sacramento, Congressman Tom Lantos (D-CA) and Congresswoman Anna Eshoo (D-CA) calling for the immediate release of Dr. Charles Li.
It was bright with sunshine in Sacramento during the day. Officials, staff and visitors passed by the press conference venue. There were also many students led by teachers to visit the capitol. Dafa practitioners took this opportunity to clarify the truth to them and collect signatures. Many were indignant after learning of Charles Li's arrest and inquired how to help.
Before and after the press conference, the practitioners also visited almost all of the offices of state assembly members to explain the facts to the members of the assembly and their staff.

Near 6:30 p.m. on March 20, 2003 (8:30 a.m. on March 21 Beijing Time), Falun Gong practitioners from the Greater Chicago area gathered in front of the Chinese Consulate to condemn the show trial of US Citizen and Falun Gong practitioner Charles Li. The practitioners sent forth righteous thoughts quietly and the scene was peaceful and solemn.
All Falun Gong practitioners and kind-hearted people are paying close attention to the development of events and Dr. Li's safety. During the event, many passers-by signed petitions to express their support.

Falun Gong practitioner Charles Li on March 21, 2003. At the same time, on the
west coast of the US more than 100 of Charles Li's friends and Falun Gong
practitioners gathered in front of the Chinese Consulate in San Francisco and
held a large-scale demonstration to protest Jiang regime's show trial, which was
conducted without any evidence.
In the evening, members of Friends of Charles Li held banners or posters with a large photo of Charles Li, distributed literature, and collected signatures. Passers-by were indignant after learning of the Jiang regime's atrocities. When they were asked how they viewed Charles' arrest, some passers-by said, "Many events occur worldwide every day. Whatever happens, an illegal trial of a US citizen is a serious matter and cannot be accepted."
Some passers-by told us to write to US Representatives and said that they should help to rescue this US citizen. Some said that they knew Jiang was an evil man.
The protest lasted from the afternoon to 8 p.m.

For the second year, Falun Dafa practitioners joined New York's African American and Puerto Rican communities at the Multicultural Heritage event in Albany NY. In addition to introducing Falun Dafa, practitioners explained the urgent need to rescue US citizen Dr. Charles Li who was imprisoned in China on January 22nd, 2003 when he returned to visit his family.
Practitioners handed out information, answered questions about Falun Dafa, clarified the truth about the persecution and demonstrated the exercises.
As people watched the peaceful beauty of the exercises, they expressed their disbelief and anger at the Jiang regime's brutal persecution. Many signed the petition to free Dr. Li.

The Truth and People's Heart
Li, a peasant living in a destitute village was afflicted with a strange disease and became completely paralyzed. The hospital could not pinpoint the cause. A Dafa practitioner visited him and asked him to read Zhuan Falun. As he studied the book continuously, he quit smoking and drinking, and gradually recovered and was able to work in the fields. His wife, daughter and everyone in the village learned that Falun Dafa saved his family.
Before practicing Falun Gong, I was a manager at a U.S.-China joint capital venture corporation. In 1997, I fell ill and my head hurt so bad I almost died. I started to practice Falun Gong because the hospital couldn't help me. The results from practicing Falun Gong were indeed miraculous because I could then ride a motorcycle whereas I couldn't even ride a bike two months before. One day I had my wife ride with me on my motorcycle. We were almost hit by a car at an intersection. The car stopped within a foot from us. The driver was speechless. If it wasn't for the protection from Master's fashen [law body], I can't imagine what would have happened.
Truth About the Persecution
After July 20, 1999, more than 100 Dafa practitioners have been detained at the Longyan Jail in Minxi Area, Fujian Province. In late January, a group of practitioners were transferred to this jail from all over the province and were forced to attend brainwashing classes, do drilling and other heavy labor for 15 to 16 hours every day. They were not allowed to study the Fa or do the exercises. Dafa practitioner Jiang Sheng did the Falun Gong exercises at night and was hung up for seven days and six nights when discovered. Other practitioners held a hunger strike and were put under "strict control" or hung up. They were not allowed to sleep for several days. On February 20, Dafa practitioners Chen Jin, Chen Ridong, Wang Minhui and Li Jian were handcuffed to the iron window for 30 to 49 hours because they took off the prisoner's uniforms and refused to work or do the prison morning exercises.
Beginning on December 25, 2002, the "610 Office" in Neijiang City, Sichuan Province held brainwashing sessions in a technical school dormitory in a suburban area. Two enforcers would watch and forcibly brainwash a single Dafa practitioner. Practitioners who were kidnapped and sent there have to pay 5,000 Yuan. pays some of this amount. They have to pay an additional 500 Yuan monthly detention fee if they had a work unit.
The vicious guards at the Xishanping Labor Camp in Chongqing City brutally torture Dafa practitioners along with prisoners. They illegally extend the practitioners' detention term from several months to a full year and they constantly steal the practitioners' food. On top of that, many practitioners were severely injured from brutal beatings and were sent to a hospital for emergency treatment.
Righteous Thoughts and Righteous Actions
From a Dafa practitioner in South Africa: I cultivate in Fa-rectification and mature in Dafa. On March 4, 13 practitioners originally from Taipei drove to Cape Town where we clarified the truth to the local people. Some of us went to Cape Technikon, a technical university, to clarify the truth and promote Falun Dafa, because there are many Chinese students in that school. Some delivered truth clarification materials to senators; others delivered truth clarification flyers to local Chinese students; additional ones did the Dafa exercises. We cooperated very well together. At the senate, the secretary of the diplomatic committee accepted our truth clarification materials and the head of the education department listened to us explain the truth about Dafa.
The experience of an elderly teacher going to Tiananmen Square in Beijing to rectify the Fa: On December 21, 2000, I went to Beijing to safeguard the Fa. In Tiananmen Square, a tall police officer stopped and asked, "Say, is Falun Gong good or bad?" I said, "Falun Gong is good." Then I shouted loudly, "Falun Dafa is good. Falun Dafa is the righteous Fa. Restore Master's reputation." I was detained in Haidian District Detention Center and I held a hunger strike. The police ordered the prisoners to torture me and didn't allow me to sleep in order to get my name and address. On the seventh day of my hunger strike the police drove me to the train station. One of the officers said, "This old woman can still walk after seven days of a hunger strike. She's amazing. Falun Gong practitioners are all extraordinary people." I broke out of the detention center in an open and dignified manner after seven days of hunger striking.

Don't forget our friends and classmates in truth clarification. Recently, eight classmates and colleagues appeared in my dreams, all of whom I had overlooked during truth clarification. I realized I should look for them. Our relationship in this life is not accidental. Many people are anxiously waiting for us to tell them the truth.

[Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Falun Dafa Practitioners Li Naimei and Li Naibin Arrested by the "610 Office"
In the middle of February 2003, Li Naimei and her sister Li Naibin were arrested by the "610 Office" [a bureau specifically created by the Chinese government to persecute Falun Gong. It has absolute power over each level of administration in the Party, as well as over the political and judiciary branches] in Guangzhou City. Li Naibin was sent to a brainwashing center. We do not know Li Naimei's whereabouts.
[Doumen County, Guangdong Province] "610 Office" Sends Falun Dafa Practitioners to a Brainwashing Center Before the 16th People's Congress Convened
Before the 16th People's Congress, personnel from the county "610 Office" frantically arrested practitioners. Currently, practitioners Wang Xiaoyuan, Lin Cuichan (female), Yang Xiumei (female), Yang (female), Zeng Qing, and others are being illegally detained at the Zhuhai City Brainwashing Center. In this center, practitioner Chen, in his 20s, was seen bleeding from his mouth because of the beatings. He was not provided any food for three days and yet his family was forced to pay 125 Yuan [Chinese currency, the monthly salary for an average Chinese urban worker is about 500 Yuan] per day in lodging fees. Zeng Qing was arrested on October 2000 on his way home from work. He experienced various inhuman tortures in the Sanshui Forced Labor Camp and was released in August 2001. He made a solemn announcement to invalidate the statements that he was forced to write in the labor camp and was again sent to a brainwashing center.
[Jiamusi, Heilongjiang Province] Falun Dafa Practitioner Huo Jinping in Critical Condition in the Jiamusi Detention Center
Huo Jinping, male, is about 35 years old. He went to Beijing in 1999 to appeal for Dafa and was illegally sent to the Jiamusi Forced Labor Camp. On November 3, 2000, he and 10 other practitioners escaped from the camp and didn't return to their homes so they wouldn't be sent back to the camp. Around October 2002, the police arrested Huo in Shandong Province and sent him back to the Jiamusi Detention Center. Huo is in critical condition now from being on a prolonged hunger strike in protest of the persecution. However the detention center still refuses to release him. We hope kind people will help. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Police Arrest Many Falun Dafa Practitioners
In August 2002, practitioner Ma Huaidong was arrested for hanging Dafa banners that clarify the true facts of the persecution. In the detention center, he suffered various cruel tortures. He was secretly sentenced to five years in the Dabei Prison in Shenyang. Huaidong's sister Ma Hongxia was arrested in September 2002 and was illegally sentenced to six years in prison. Their parents were also later arrested.
In January 2002, the police illegally arrested practitioners including Sun Yongsheng, Jia Naizhi, and Liu Chengyan. They are suffering cruel tortures in the Second Detention Center. The police strictly block the information and have not even informed the practitioner's families.
In March 2003, the police broke into practitioner Su Min's home and arrested her. We do not know her whereabouts.
[Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Falun Dafa Practitioner Zhang Guixia from Xinbin County Is Brutally Tortured at the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp
On February 27, 2002, the police from Xinbin County illegally arrested Zhang Guixia, 38 years old, in her home for explaining the facts about Falun Dafa to people. She has been detained at the first branch of the third female squad in the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp for over a year. In order to protest the illegal imprisonment and persecution, she has been on hunger strikes many times. The police forcefully fed her, sometimes twice a day and shamelessly asked her family to pay 4000 Yuan in "meal fees." They tortured her by making her squat in a small cell, suspending her by her arms, sitting on an iron chair for prolonged periods of time, and so on. Currently, she is very weak and suffering. We hope that the international society will help to rescue her.
[Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] The Authorities Fabricate and Spread Rumors About a Self-Immolation Plan
Recently, the authorities spread a rumor that Falun Dafa practitioners in a certain area in Heilongjiang were planning to stage a self-immolation. Using this as justification, the police illegally arrested many practitioners. The cultivation of Falun Dafa is dignified. Zhuan Falun, the complete teachings of Falun Dafa, explicitly points out, "For practitioners, we have set the strict requirement that they cannot kill lives." It is not possible for Falun Dafa practitioners to commit suicide or self-immolate. This rumor should make people once again see clearly another lie fabricated by the evil force in order to continue its persecution.
[Changchun City, Jilin Province] Authorities Attempt to Obstruct the Investigations of the World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong"
Recently, the residential offices in Changchun City passed a document from the city to all the residential committees stating: Closely monitor anyone who might be from the World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong and prohibit them from contacting the local Falun Gong practitioners in order to prevent the truth about the persecution from leaking out. This actually shows that the overseas practitioners are doing a good job. They hit the evil's weak spot. This also shows the dictator's extreme fear.
[Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Falun Dafa Practitioner Li Xin Is Arrested in Taiyuan
In October 2001, Li Xin, 29 years old, from Harbin, was arrested in Beijing for appealing for Falun Gong and was detained at the Pinggu Detention Center in Beijing. The police brutally beat Li, burned him with cigarettes, and tortured him by making him hold the "riding an airplane" [the head is bent down until it cannot go down any further, while the hands are pulled up and held up to the highest point. The hips have to remain upright.] position for long periods of time. On May 16, 2002, the police arrested Li from his home and illegally sentenced him to two years in the Changlinzi Forced Labor Camp. In order to protest the illegal detention, he went on hunger strikes several times. In January 2002, he developed numbness below his waist and appeared to be paralyzed. On February 26, 2002, he was able to escape from the camp. On September 16, 2002, he was arrested while distributing Dafa materials at Huabei Industrial Institute in Taiyuan, Shanxi Province. He was sent back to Harbin. We do not know his whereabouts. Three female practitioners Lu Yuexian, Wu Mei, and Ma Huanxi were arrested at the same time and have been illegally detained in the Taiyuan Detention Center.
[Shenyang, Liaoning Province] Police in the Second Prison of Dabei Prison Persecute Falun Dafa Practitioners
Li Jianguo and other police officers locked six Falun Gong practitioners from Tiefa City of Liaoning Province into "small cells" after they asked permission to practice the Falun Gong exercises. The practitioners are Lou Xinhua, Fan Ming, Wu Haili, Sun Wei, Wang Limin, and Li Xiangming.
[Shuangcheng City, Heilongjiang Province] Dr. Dong Wencheng Is Arrested and Detained at Changlinzi Forced Labor Camp
Dong Wencheng is a 35 year old physician. On February 11, 2002, the officials from a town government forcefully sent him to a brainwashing center for nearly 2 months. He was released after paying 2000 Yuan and the deeds to three homes. In 2002, he was arrested for going to Beijing to appeal for Dafa. After being transferred and tortured in five detention centers, he was finally detained in the Shuangcheng Detention Center. He went on a hunger strike to protest and was forcefully fed and tortured. He was only released when his physical condition deteriorated so much that his life was in danger. On April 16, 2002, he went to Beijing again to appeal and was arrested. He was sentenced to two years in a forced labor camp but was later released because his leg was broken in a fall and he became emaciated from the torture in the detention center. As soon as he recovered at home, they sent him back to Changlinzi Forced Labor Camp and he has been there ever since.
[Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province] Falun Dafa Practitioner Pan Li Is Arrested
On June 8, 2002, the police from Xiangyang Police Branch of Jiamusi Police Department illegally arrested Pan Li, 49 years old, for explaining the facts about Falun Dafa. Currently, she is being detained at Xigemu Forced Labor Camp in Jiamusi City.
[Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] The Police from Juyuan Police Station Arrest Four Female Falun Dafa Practitioners
On March 12, 2003, the police from Juyuan Police Station in Linhe District arrested four practitioners from Beijing and directly sent them to the notorious Masanjia Forced Labor Camp.
[Xinmin City, Liaoning Province] The Police Arrest Falun Gong Practitioners Zhao Gang and Xia Liqing
Zhao Gang, male, over 40 years old, went to Beijing to validate Dafa in February and was illegally arrested on Tiananmen Square. He was shouting, "Falun Gong is good" while being beaten by the police. Zhao was severely injured from the police brutality and was sent to the Xinmin City Detention Center. We do not know his whereabouts.
Xia Liqing, male, over 60 years old, was arrested by the police from Zhangtun Village for distributing Falun Dafa materials. The person who reported him to the authorities was rewarded with 500 Yuan. Xia was sentenced to two and half years in the Zhangshi Forced Labor Camp in Shenyang City, Liaoning Province.
[Dingan County, Hainan Province] Facts About the Persecution of Falun Dafa Practitioners
On March 25, 2002, the police arrested practitioners Chen Chunling and Li Liyun and illegally detained them at the First and Second Detention Centers of Haikou City respectively. The police in the detention centers refused to allow the practitioners' families to visit them.
On the evening of October 24, the police arrested practitioner He Jinglu and detained him at the Dingan County Detention Center.
Since July 1999, four practitioners have been illegally sentenced to prison: Wu Xiaobo, nine years, Lin Xiong, seven years, He Jinlan, four years, and Zhuang, four years. More than a dozen practitioners have been illegally sent to forced labor camps.

[Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province] Falun Dafa Practitioner Chen Shaoqing Is Arrested Again
On the evening of March 12, the police arrested Chen Shaoqing again. She has been arrested several times before and has been tortured. Every time, she broke the evil persecution with a righteous mind and a righteous belief in Dafa. Once she was on a hunger strike for over 30 days. The police released her when her life became endangered. She recovered at home and continued to rectify the Fa. She left home to avoid the persecution and being arrested again.

On March 4, 2003, the police from the Yangjiaweizi Police Station, including Leng Yufa, arrested Li Yuxiang from her home and confiscated Zhuan Falun and some Dafa materials. We do not know her whereabouts.
[Wangdu County, Hebei Province] Police Cruelly Torture Falun Dafa Practitioner Zu Lanzhen
In August 2002, Zu Lanzhen, 62 years old, was arrested and sent to a detention center. The police from Xianghe Police Station in Jia Village tortured her. They burned her palms, mouth, and tongue with cigarettes and she immediately developed egg-sized blisters on her palms. They stuck toothpicks nearly 1 centimeter deep into her fingernails and her hands were covered in blood. They used a cigarette lighter to burn her fingers until the lighter ran out of fuel. Other practitioners in the same cell witnessed the torture. Zu could not eat or sleep. The practitioners went on a hunger strike in order to protest the torture of Zu. The police might have been afraid as they started to treat Zu's wounds and asked the other practitioners to resume eating.
[Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Falun Dafa Practitioner Liu Limin Is Cruelly Tortured in the Yangyuan Brainwashing Center in Wuchang District
In January 2003, the police at the Yangyuan Brainwashing Center strung up Liu Limin, a 50 year old practitioner, for over 20 days. Although her legs became severely swollen and extremely sore, she did not waver. She was later transferred and her whereabouts are not known.
[Qinglong County, Hebei Province] Personnel from the "610 Office" and Police Confiscate Falun Dafa Practitioners' Properties
From February 19 to 21, 2003, personnel from the local "610 Office" and officers from the Qinglong County Police Station illegally confiscated several dozen practitioners' houses and arrested seven practitioners.
[Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Officers from Zhangjiawan Police Station at Hongshan District Send Falun Dafa Practitioners to a Brainwashing Center
Since last year, the police from Zhangjiawan Police Station have arrested and sent many local practitioners to a brainwashing center in Hongshan District. Practitioner Wang Xuewen was arrested at his son's home in Yangchahu in Hankou City. They also sent a practitioner's relative, who doesn't practice Falun Gong, to the brainwashing center.
[Fushun City, Liaoning Province] The Police at Fushun Forced Labor Camp Barbarically Torture Falun Dafa Practitioners
From April to June 2002, the authorities at Fushun Forced Labor Camp set up a building in rural Zhangdang in which Falun Dafa practitioners were tortured. Liu Zhigang, the Vice Director of the camp led Wu Wei, the head of the squad, in torturing practitioners in many different ways. He ordered the guards to beat, punch, kick, and shock the practitioners. Almost every day, the practitioners' cries of pain could be heard. All Dafa practitioners that remained firm were sent to the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp.
Police officers Ceng Qiuyan and Chen Linghua (telephone: 86-413-2431917) incited collaborators [former Falun Gong practitioners who have gone astray due to brainwashing and torture] to beat the practitioners. Female practitioners were placed in small cells without windows, and they would live, and use the toilet in the same cell. The smell in the cell was intolerable. The practitioners were beaten and shocked while in these cells. Male guards monitor the female practitioners; which is a serious violation of human rights.
(Clearwisdom.net) A "solemn declaration" is a person's public statement declaring to the world that whatever he or she has done or said under duress or deception that was against Falun Dafa is null and void. Most of these statements have come from Falun Dafa practitioners in China who wished to express regret that, in the face of physical torture and brainwashing, they had signed documents renouncing Dafa and guaranteeing not to practice again. Also, as more and more people in China learn the truth about how they have been deceived and lied to by the Jiang regime, many non-practitioners are also submitting "solemn declarations."

(Clearwisdom.net) In the summer of 2002, a few farmers from Datixi Village of Cheng'an County, Hebei Province came to Feixiang County to work. One day a journalist came to their work site to make a news film. The journalist asked the workers, "Can you help to make the news film? If you play Falun Gong practitioners and say that Falun Gong is not good, you will get paid 30 Yuan if you put on handcuffs and 20 Yuan without handcuffs." A few of them worked for the journalist to earn the money. The others refused and said, "We should not make money without conscience. Money can't bribe us to slander Falun Gong."
A piece of news like this has totally reversed right and wrong. There are so many Dafa practitioners who have died, been tortured to disability, forced to leave home to escape persecution, illegally sentenced to prison and forced labor camp, detained, fined large amounts of money, and whose families have been broken up. Nobody ever reports such real facts. Journalists fabricate news. Where is justice?

Police Officers Who Participate in Persecuting Dafa Practitioners of Guancheng District, Zhengzhou City in Henan Province Suddenly Die of Illness One after Another
Chang Shizhong was the head of Guancheng District Police Bureau of Zhengzhou City in Henan Province and was known for persecuting Falun Dafa practitioners. Any Falun Gong practitioner in Guancheng District that was illegally detained or sent to a forced labor camp were under his approval, he died suddenly before the 2003 Chinese New Year. Wang Pin, who was the person in charge of Shibalihe Police Station, illegally kidnapped Dafa practitioner Zhao Lianrong and then sent this practitioner to a detention center in early 2002. Subsequently in June he received karmic retribution for his evil acts and ended up in hospital needing to receive medical treatment. He then died on September 28. Jail guard Huang worked at the Guangchen District Detention Center and would always swear at and beat up Falun Dafa practitioners when he was drunk, he died suddenly at the end of the year 2000.
Party Secretary of Songfu Town in Macheng City, Hubei Province Dies in Car Accident
Wang Maosheng, who is the Daluhe Village Communist Party Committee leader, teamed up with the evil "610 Office" [The "610 Office" is an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems] to illegally arrest Falun Gong practitioners, he also repeatedly slandered and attacked Falun Dafa during these meetings. He died in a car accident before the 2003 Chinese New Year.
The Heavenly Law Punishes Unlawful Officers from Zhaoyuan City
Duan Guofang of Jinling Town Justice Bureau in Zhaoyuan City, Shandong Province had beaten up Dafa practitioners on many occasions and now he has a brain tumor. After he underwent an operation to help his condition he lost all control of his body and is now bed ridden.
Li Chuncai, general secretary of Zhaoyuan City Council, had participated numerous times in setting up meetings to pass on the orders of Jiang's regime in persecuting Dafa. He died of cancer in 1999.
Dai Pengde, who was the general secretary of the People's Assembly of Zhaoyuan City, adopted such means as illegal detention, restriction to ones personal freedom and, fines and salary deductions in order to persecute practitioners in his company. He died as a result of a car accident in early 2000.
Shi Decai, city foreign affair section manager for Zhaoyuan City, has participated on numerous occasions in persecuting Falun Dafa practitioners via cruel means. He has inescapable responsibilities in the legal case on Falun Dafa practitioner Zhao Jinhua being persecuted to death. He was dismissed from his position due to a legal case regarding economics.
Note: Each time we publish news of this nature, we do so with heavy hearts. These people started off as public servants, but under the intense pressure applied by the Jiang regime, they were pushed into persecuting Falun Dafa practitioners. In the process of destroying the lives of kind, law-abiding citizens, they have sealed their own fates and inevitably faced karmic retribution as punishment. If it weren't for Jiang's wicked orders, perhaps their fates would've been different.
