(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 13 cities or counties in 8 provinces, where at least 21 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Dongying City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Ying Faces Trial
Ms. Wang Ying from Gudao Town will be tried in the Yucheng City Court at 9 a.m. on May 30, 2023.
2. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Sun Shuyun Arrested
Ms. Sun Shuyun was arrested on May 20, 2023.
3. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Nie Yan Arrested
Nie Yan was arrested by officers from the Weixing Road Police Station on the morning of May 31, 2023 for talking to people about Falun Gong. Her home was ransacked at 6 p.m. The police confiscated her Falun Gong books, laptop and printer.
4. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Qu Shengzhi Arrested
Ms. Qu Shengzhi was surrounded by twelve police officers on the first floor of the building where she lives on the morning of May 18, 2023. The police ransacked her home and confiscated a photo of Falun Gong’s founder, two articles, two desk calendars, a printer, and a computer, among other items. Ms. Qu was taken to the Lamadian Police Department. She was released on bail pending trial that afternoon.
5. [Jixi City, Heilongjiang Province] Five Practitioners Arrested
Ms. Xu Fengzhen was arrested on May 15, 2023. She was detained for 13 days and was released on May 28, 2023.
Mr. Zhang Peizeng was arrested on April 22, 2023. He was placed under residential surveillance and was released on May 29, 2023.
Hu Hui was arrested on May 15, 2023 and was detained for 15 days. Hu was released on May 30, 2023.
Zhou Dongle was arrested by officers from the Nanshan Police Station in Jiguan District on May 25, 2023.
Mr. Shi Xiaochun was arrested at his workplace by officers from the Xiangyang Police Station in Jiguan District on the evening of May 12, 2023. He was detained for 15 days and then placed in criminal detention. He is currently held in the Jixi City Detention Center.
6. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Xiaoxue Arrested and Detained
Ms. Xiaoxue was arrested when she distributed information about Falun Gong in the Gangshang Town Market in the Gaocheng District on the morning of May 29, 2023. Her home was ransacked but the police did not find anything. Ms. Xiaoxue was taken to a detention house where she will be held for 10 days.
7. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Teng Lihua Sentenced to Seven Months in Prison
Teng Lihua, who works for the Qilu Petrochemical Company, was sentenced to seven months in prison and fined 1,000 yuan by the Zichuan District Court on May 26, 2023. Teng has filed an appeal.
8. [Chongqing] Ms. Yu Dehui Arrested
Ms. Yu Dehui was arrested by officers from the Jinfeng Police Station in the Jiulongpo District on February 19, 2020 because she was suspected of distributing amulets (a keepsake with information about Falun Dafa). She was released and placed under residential surveillance.
Ms. Yu was repeatedly harassed and arrested by police in the Gaoxin District since then. She was arrested again by officers from the Jinfeng Police Station on May 17, 2023. The detention center refused to admit her, so she was released.
9. [Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Xiong Huaying and Ms. Zhang Shuiyun Arrested
Ms. Xiong Huaying, 78, and Ms. Zhang Shuiyun, 74, were reported to the police and were arrested at a bus station by officers from the Xujiafang Police Station at 10 a.m. on May 28, 2023. The police confiscated two USB drives and seven amulets. Their homes were ransacked. The police confiscated several pendants and a desk calendar from Ms. Xiong’s home, and two USB drives and a Falun Gong book from Ms. Zhang’s home. The two practitioners were released later that day.
10. [Beijing] Ms. Hu Guilan Tried in Court
Ms. Hu Guilan was tried in the Shanhou Court in the Haidian District at 9 a.m. on April 23, 2023. She was handcuffed during the trial. She was sentenced to one year on bail, to be served outside prison, and fined 2,000 yuan.
11. [Longkou City, Shandong Province] Four Family Members Arrested
A group of police officers broke into Mr. Wang Shude’s home on the morning of May 9, 2023. They ransacked the place and confiscated his Falun Gong books and computers. They took four family members to the police station including Mr. Wang Shude, his wife Ms. Zhang Shuqin, their son Mr. Wang Bo, and their daughter Ms. Wang Yang.
Ms. Wang Yang was released that evening. Mr. Wang Bo was placed under 10-day detention. Mr. Wang Shude and Ms. Zhang Shuqin were sent to a detention house.
12. [Suining City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Yan Changsu Sentenced to One Year in Prison
Ms. Yan Changsu, 77, was arrested by officers from the Fuyuan Road Police Station on the morning of October 25, 2022. She was sentenced to one year in prison with two years of probation by the Pengxi County Court on May 18, 2023.
13. [Hanzhong City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Liu Guilan Arrested and Detained
Ms. Liu Guilan from Hantai District was taken to a police station for talking to people about Falun Gong on May 16, 2023. She was held for five days in the Xixiang County Detention Center and was released on May 22, 2023.
