(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 13 cities or counties in 11 provinces, where at least 25 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Li Yinhuan Sentenced to Two Years and Three Months in Prison
Ms. Li Yinhuan from Yuexiu District, 59, was arrested at her home by officers from the Changxing Police Station on January 26, 2022 and sent to the Tianhe District Detention Center. She was tried in the Haizhu District Court on the morning of February 16, 2023, then sentenced to two years and three months in prison and fined 6,000 yuan on May 16, 2023. Her pension has been suspended by the Guangzhou Social Security Bureau since February 2022.
2. [Hefei City, Anhui Province] Case Against Mr. Ji Guangkui Submitted the Procuratorate
Mr. Ji Guangkui was arrested at home by officers from the Anqing Road Police Station when he was taking his granddaughter to school at 1:30 p.m. on April 18, 2023. The police ransacked his home and confiscated a box of Falun Gong books. He was taken to the Hefei City Detention Center the following afternoon. Mr. Ji was placed under official arrest on April 27, 2023, and his case was submitted to the Shushan District Procuratorate on June 19, 2023.
3. [Nantong City, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Shan Hanru Persecuted
Mr. Shan Hanru was detained for seven and a half years, from June 2012 to December 2019. He worked in a state-owned company for over 40 years and should receive a pension of about 5,000 yuan per month. However, he received only just over 2,100 yuan per month. He filed a lawsuit and mailed it to the provincial high court on May 4, 2023, but there has been no response so far.
4. [Chenzhou City, Hunan Province] Four Practitioners Harassed
Mr. Guo Changcai lives in Yangling Village, Pule Town, Guidong County. He was harassed at home twice by police on March 1 and May 18, 2023.
Huang Cunfei and Deng Aiyou found out that someone had signed her name on so-called guarantee statements (promising to stop practicing Falun Gong).
Ms. Li Xiuhua was summoned to the local town government in April 2023 and threatened that she would lose her subsistence allowance if she refused to sign the guarantee statement. She went to her son’s home in Guangdong Province to take care of her grandson and was harassed there in mid-May 2023. She was threatened and told that her son's and her grandson's futures would be negatively impacted (if she did not stop practicing Falun Gong).
5. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Sun Shuyun on a Hunger Strike
Ms. Sun Shuyun was arrested by officers from the Hulan District Police Department on May 20, 2023, and was held in the No. 2 Detention Center of Harbin City for over two months. She started a hunger strike, and is now very weak and thin.
6. [Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Xiong Xiaohua Arrested and Detained
Ms. Xiong Xiaohua, 69, was arrested at home by four officers from the Jingshan Police Station and the Qingyunpu Police Department at 11 a.m. on May 25, 2023. Her home was ransacked, and the posters about Falun Gong displayed on the walls were confiscated. Ms. Xiong takes care of her husband who suffers from Alzheimers, is recovering from a stroke, and has heart disease. He requires constant care.
Ms. Xiong was held for seven days in the Nanchang City Detention Center and was released on June 1, 2023. While she was detained she did the exercises and talked to people about Falun Gong. She purchased some basic supplies for four inmates who had no money.
7. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Lixia Released after Being Imprisoned for One Year
Ms. Wang Lixia was arrested on June 17, 2022 when she was talking to people about Falun Gong. She was later sentenced to one year in prison. She was released on June 17, 2023.
8. [Suining City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zeng Chongqiong Harassed
Ms. Zeng Chongqiong received a harassing phone call from the Longfeng Town government in late April 2023. The person wanted to know her address. She refused to provide it. Her daughter later received several harassing calls, and she was also harassed at home. She refused to take those people to her mother’s place.
9. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Chen Anhua Harassed
Four women from the local community office and two police officers went to Ms. Chen Anhua’s home on June 21, 2023. They wanted to videotape Ms. Chen saying something bad about Falun Gong, but she refused to cooperate. They kept calling her, from June 21 to 28, 2023 and threatened to visit her husband’s workplace if she did not do as they asked. Due to the pressure of the CCP’s harassment over the years, Ms. Chen’s husband had a stroke. His health began failing again after this most recent round of harassment.
10. [Gulin County, Sichuan Province] Mr. Hu Biao Arrested
Mr. Hu Biao, from Taiping Town of Gulin County, was arrested by officers in Luzhou City in August 2022.
11. [Renhuai City, Guizhou Province] Tan Chengxian and Mr. Li Minglong Arrested and Detained
Tan Chengxian from Zhongshu Town was arrested by officers in Gulin County on October 8, 2022 and taken to Lu County. Tan’s whereabouts are unknown.
Mr. Li Minglong from Ronghua Village of Huoshi Town was arrested at home by officers from the Gulin County Police Department on October 8, 2022. He was detained for two months in a secret prison in Yunlong Town, Lu County. He was later released on bail pending trial.
12. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Meng Qingxia and Ms. Liu Chunjie Arrested and Detained
Ms. Meng Qingxia and Ms. Liu Chunjie from Faku County were arrested and detained in the No. 1 Detention Center for over two months. The cases against them have been submitted to the Liaozhong District Procuratorate. They were placed under official arrest on May 25, 2023.
13. [Zhucheng City, Shandong Province] Cases Against Six Practitioners Submitted to the Procuratorate
Six practitioners were released on bail pending trial on April 19, 2022, including Li Mingxia, Zheng Zhimei, Luo Bingxin, Li Yeshu, Xu Huancui, and Li Hongmei.
Luo Bingxin, Li Yeshu, Xu Huancui, and Li Hongmei were summoned to the Procuratorate in April 2023. Ms. Zheng Zhimei and Ms. Li Mingxia were summoned to the Procuratorate on June 27 and 28, 2023, respectively.
