(Minghui.org) Practitioners held a rally on July 20, 2023, in front of the Chinese Embassy in Spain to protest the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) 24-year-long persecution of Falun Dafa. They condemned the CCP’s trampling of human rights, beliefs, and freedoms, and demanded that it immediately end the persecution. They called on governments and people of all countries to help end the CCP’s state-sanctioned live organ harvesting from Falun Dafa practitioners.

Practitioners unfurled a long row of banners and display boards across from the Chinese Embassy, exposing the CCP’s atrocities during the persecution. Some practitioners demonstrated the five sets of Falun Dafa exercises and told passersby about the persecution. After learning the extent of the human rights abuses in China, passersby signed the petition without hesitation.
People Admire Practitioners’ Perseverance

Carmen and Borja passed by the Chinese Embassy and learned that Falun Gong practitioners have been persecuted in China for 24 years. They immediately signed the petition. Carmen said, “The CCP’s dictatorship takes away people’s souls. This is the most terrible act of theft, and it is a barbaric trampling on all spirituality. I believe that most of the CCP officials also have spirituality in their hearts, but it is suppressed. I hope they can be brave, follow their conscience, and choose the right path.”
She expressed her admiration for the practitioners’ unremitting peaceful petition activities over the years and said, “The way practitioners protest the persecution is not violent. There’s no shouting or throwing things. They just practice the exercises and meditate quietly. I think this is a very civilized way.” Mr. Borja said, “The CCP’s suppression of people and trampling of freedom and belief will not last long.”
Laura is a member of a film crew. This is the first time that she had heard about the persecution. She said, “I’m not surprised that this happened in China. I feel sad.” Regarding the CCP’s live organ harvesting, she said, “All means must be taken to stop this criminal act of live organ harvesting. It must not be tolerated.”
Public Condemn the Persecution

When Carlos, a seventeen-year-old high school student, heard the exercise music and saw the photos of the persecution he walked towards the event. He talked with practitioners and learned about the persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners because of their beliefs. After signing the petition, he said, “First of all, people should have freedom, and everyone should enjoy freedom of belief. Everyone must work together to change this situation. The CCP will eventually be held accountable. It has to change.”

Ms. Carmen said, “I support freedom. Everyone has freedom of belief and is satisfied on the spiritual level. I also oppose the CCP’s dictatorship because it deprives people of their freedom and does not allow them to pursue spirituality.”
The peaceful protest in front of the Chinese Embassy drew seventy-one-year-old Mr. José Nieto. It was the first time he heard about the persecution. He said, “Falun Dafa is a free way of cultivation and should not be persecuted in any way.” When he learned that practitioners were subjected to live organ harvesting, he said, “This is a crime against humanity and must be investigated and severely punished.”
Background: What Is Falun Dafa and Why Is the CCP Persecuting It?
Falun Dafa (also known as Falun Gong) was first introduced to the public by Mr. Li Hongzhi in Changchun, China, in 1992. The spiritual discipline is now practiced in over 100 countries and regions worldwide. Millions of people who have embraced the teachings, which are based on the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, and have learned the five exercises, have experienced improved health and well-being.
Jiang Zemin, former head of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), perceived the spiritual discipline’s growing popularity as a threat to the CCP’s atheistic ideology, and on July 20, 1999, he issued an order to eradicate the practice.
Under Jiang’s personal direction, the CCP established the 610 Office, an extralegal security organization with the power to override the police and judicial systems and whose sole function is to carry out the persecution of Falun Dafa.
Minghui.org has confirmed the deaths of thousands of practitioners due to the persecution over the past 24 years. The actual number is believed to be much higher. Countless practitioners have been imprisoned and tortured for their faith.
There is concrete evidence that the CCP sanctions the harvesting of organs from detained practitioners, who are murdered to supply China’s organ transplant industry.
